Wedding Ceremony

Pre- Ceremony Music

Consider having some music played before the ceremony, while the guests are arriving and waiting for the bride to arrive. This provides entertainment for the guests while they wait, and also sets the mood prior to the ceremony. 3 to Tango offers 15 minutes of pre-ceremony music free of charge with every wedding package.

Processional (Bride's Entrance)

The most important musical selection for the ceremony is the bride's entrance (processional). For the processional, consider choosing a piece that you both enjoy, and one that has some special meaning or significance for you.  For ideas, have a look at the 3 to Tango song lists on the Trio page of this website.  If there is a song that is not already on our song lists, then we will be happy to prepare a special song of your choice, for your ceremony.

Signing the Register

The signing of the register is another important place for music during the ceremony. It is a good idea to choose something that makes pleasant background music while the signing of the register takes place, and guests take photos of the bride and groom. As the signing can take some time, it is a good idea to select a longer piece of music, or choose one special song, and have it followed by a light instrumental piece, for example on classical guitar.

Recessional (Exit of Bridal Party)

The recessional, or exit of the bridal party, is usually accompanied by a slightly more up-beat piece of music, as the formalities of the ceremony are finished. Popular choices include "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles, or a light jazz song like "L-O-V-E" or "This Will Be" by Natalie Cole.

Wedding Reception  

Wedding music for the reception often begins with canapes or pre-dinner drinks. This provides entertainment for your guests while they wait for the bridal party to arrive at the reception.

3 to Tango is also particularly well suited to playing backround music to accompany dinner, as the music is not loud or intrusive. Consider having a special song played for the bridal waltz. We would be happy to prepare a special song if you would like something that is not currently on our song lists.

Consider starting with more mellow music during dinner, then moving to something more up-beat after the bridal waltz. The full trio (voice, piano, guitar) is the best option for a full reception.  

 

Full Wedding Package  

3 to Tango specialises in providing full wedding packages. Rather than booking separate musicians and wedding bands for the ceremony and reception, consider a full wedding package, where you can combine the different options that 3 to Tango has to offer. For example, we can provide a classical duo for pre-ceremony, add a vocalist during the ceremony, and perform as a full trio for the reception.

A full wedding package includes the following:

• Choice of trio, or duo
• 15 minutes pre-ceremony music
• 1 hour ceremony (if ceremony shorter than 1 hour, music can entertain guests after the ceremony while photos are taking place)
• Your choice of songs prepared specially for your ceremony
• Music during canapes, dinner, and later in the reception (approx. 4-5hrs)
